About This Spot

Welcome to Maioral Zé - Café Churrasqueira, a hidden gem nestled in the quaint village of Valada, Portugal. This delightful café is not just a place to grab a bite; it’s a warm embrace of traditional Portuguese hospitality, where every visit feels like coming home.

The heart of Maioral Zé lies in its genuine atmosphere, where friendly service is always at the forefront. As Chris Grant mentions, the staff here go above and beyond to ensure that you feel welcome. It's the kind of place where your smile is met with a bigger one, making it an ideal spot for both locals and travelers alike.

Operating at very affordable prices, this small yet inviting eatery offers a menu filled with delicious options that reflect the essence of Portuguese cuisine. The vibrant aromas of grilled meats waft through the air, tantalizing your taste buds from the moment you walk in. From savory grilled chicken to tender portions of pork, each dish is prepared with love and a sprinkle of local flair. You’ll also want to indulge in their refreshing sangria, as noted by Kaea La, who recommends pairing it with well-seasoned potato fries and fresh bread for a truly satisfying experience.

As Bessy Vega beautifully describes it, Maioral Zé feels like a small traditional bar where the spirit of community and good food converge. It’s perfect for a casual catch-up with friends or a relaxed dinner after a day of exploring Valada. During the evenings, especially on Tuesdays when options may be limited, Maioral Zé stands out as a reliable destination for a delicious meal without breaking the bank.

In a world where dining experiences can often feel impersonal, Maioral Zé offers visitors not just great food, but a genuine connection to the heart of Portuguese culture. Here, you’re not just a customer; you’re part of the family. So, whether you’re a local or a visitor, stop by and enjoy the warmth of Maioral Zé - where every meal is a shared celebration of good food and great company.

Small traditional bar, café and eatery in the tiny village of Valada. Owner is friendly and the food and drinks are good. Very low prices!

Good restaurant:) The food is touch in my heart
